"Adultery" denotes one "who has unlawful intercourse with the spouse of another" (Vine's).

Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Matt. 5:31-32; 19:9; Mk. 10:11-12;
Lk. 16:18

A person commits adultery if he remarries after divorcing a spouse for a reason other than sexual immorality. And, anyone who marries a person who has been divorced for a reason other than sexual immorality, commits adultery.

In a marriage where one or both people have been divorced for a reason other than sexual immorality, it is an adulterous marriage (cf. Rom. 7:1-3).

Gal. 5:19

Adultery (i.e., fornication) is a work of the flesh.

1 Cor. 6:9-10;
Rev. 21:8

Adulterers (i.e., the sexually immoral) will not enter into heaven.
