Bible study on blood.

Gen. 9:4


Life is in the blood.


Gen. 9:4; Acts 15:20, 29; 21:25


Man is forbidden to eat blood.


Heb. 9:22


Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.


Heb. 10:1-18


The blood of bulls and goats could not take away sins. Christ offered Himself to take away sins.


Heb. 9:11-28; 12:24


Christ is our High Priest. He offered His own blood. He is the Mediator of the new covenant. Christ offered Himself once to bear the sins of many.


Matt. 26:28

Christ shed His blood when crucified. Christ's blood is the blood of the new covenant. The fruit of the vine drank in observing the Lord's Supper represents Christ's blood (cf. 1 Cor. 11:24-25).

Christ suffered death by crucifixion so that He might sanctify us with His own blood (Heb. 13:12).


Acts 20:28


Christ purchased the church with His own blood.


1 Pet. 1:18-19

We have been redeemed (i.e., bought back, purchased) with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

Therefore, we must glorify God in our body and spirit (1 Cor. 6:19-20).
