Faith
Bible study on faith.

Acts 6:7;
Rom. 1:5; 16:26

We must become obedient to the faith to be saved.

The faith (i.e., the gospel) was delivered once for all to the saints (Jude 1:3).

Heb. 11:1

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb. 11:3

By faith we understand that God framed the worlds by His word. The things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

Jn. 6:28-29;
1 Th. 1:3; 2 Th. 1:11

Faith is a work. Without faith we cannot work the works of God (cf. Gal. 5:6).

When we obey God, the things we do are a work of faith (1 Th. 1:3; cf. Rom. 10:17).

Rom. 10:17

Faith comes from hearing; hearing comes by the word of God.

1 Cor. 1:21

God saves those who believe.

The message preached is foolishness to those who are perishing (1 Cor. 1:18) so that those who believe are saved (1 Cor. 1:21).

2 Cor. 5:7; Gal. 3:11; Heb. 10:38

Christians walk by faith, not by sight.

Col. 1:23

We must continue in the faith to be saved (cf. 2 Tim. 4:7).

Rom. 1:5; 10:17; 16:26

If we have faith, we will be obedient to God's word.

People who have been justified by faith (Rom. 5:1) have obeyed from the heart the doctrine taught by the apostles (Rom. 6:17-18; cf. 2 Tim. 3:16-17). They have been baptized into Christ (Rom. 6:3).

Heb. 11:1-40

If we have faith, we will obey God.

Those who believe, obey the gospel of Christ (2 Th. 1:8, 10).

Rom. 4:1-25; Heb. 11:8-10, 17-19; Jas. 2:14-24

We must have the faith of Abraham. He had an obedient faith.

Col. 2:12-13

In baptism we are buried and raised with Christ through faith in the working of God.

Gal. 5:6

Faith works through love.

Faith that does not work is a dead faith (Jas. 2:26).

We must have a living faith. We must be a doer of the word (Jas. 1:21-27; 2:14-26; Heb. 4:2).

Gal. 5:22

We cannot bear the fruit of the Spirit without faith.

2 Pet. 1:5-11

We must supply to our faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, to brotherly kindness love.

Jas. 1:6

We must pray in faith, not doubting (cf. Jas. 5:15).

Jas. 2:19

We cannot have the faith of demons. We must have an obedient faith (Jas. 1:21-27; 2:14-26).

We are not saved by faith only (Jas. 2:24). Else, the demons must also be saved (Jas. 2:19).

If we believe and do not abide in Christ's word, we are not disciples of Jesus Christ (Jn. 8:31). Our faith is like that of the demons (Jas. 2:19).

Eph. 6:16; 1 Th. 5:8

Faith is a part of God's armor which Christians must put on to overcome Satan.
