Pope
Bible study on the Pope.

Matt. 23:9

Christians are not permitted to religiously call a man his father.

The word "Pope" is Greek for father. To call the Pope or a priest "father" is in direct violation of Jesus' command.

The office of Pope in the Catholic Church is not an office in the Lord's church (see THE CHURCH: ORGANIZATION OF THE CHURCH). The office of Pope is man-made.

1 Pet. 5:1

Peter was not the Pope. He was one of many elders in the church.

Matt. 8:14

Peter would not qualify as a Pope. He was married (1 Cor. 9:5).

Peter was an elder (1 Pet. 5:1); therefore, he had to be married to be qualified (1 Pet. 3:2; Tit. 1:6).

Acts 10:25-26

Peter did not accept worship from men as Popes do.

Gal. 2:11-14

Peter was fallible. Popes erroneously claim infallibility although their works prove otherwise.
