We must pray with understanding.

Phil. 4:6-7

We are anxious for nothing through prayer.

1 Pet. 5:6-7

We humbly cast our cares upon God through prayer.

1 Pet. 3:7

Husbands must act properly toward their wives or their prayers will be hindered (cf. 1 Pet. 3:12).

1 Tim. 2:8

We must pray lifting up holy hands ("holy hands" denotes being holy and thus righteousness before God), without wrath, without doubting.

Is. 59:1-2 God does not hear our prayers if we are living in sin (cf. 1 Pet. 3:7). Our sins separate us from God.
