Sorcery, Witchcraft
Bible study on sorcery, witchcraft.

Ex. 22:18; Lev. 19:26- 28, 31; 20:6, 27; Deut. 18:9-12


Israel was forbidden from practicing or consulting sorcerers. The penalty for practicing sorcery was death (Is. 8:19; Mal. 3:5).

Saul consulted with the witch of En-dor which was a sin (1 Sam. 28). Saul had become the Lord's adversary (1 Sam. 28:16f).

Interpretations of dreams belong to God, not to sorcerers (cf. Gen. 41:8; Dan. 2:1-12).
